SNOcto changing lives…
Ted makes his SNOctopus account
A user named Ted decides he wants to coordinate his social networks using SNOctopus. He visits the SNOctopus website and clicks the “Join now” button that is clearly labeled on the welcome page. He enters some basic information such as his full name, a unique user name, a password, and his primary email address. There is a terms of service box that Ted can read, which spells out SNOctopus’ policy on storing information, account deletion, etc.. He checks the box that confirms he has read it, and then clicks the “create account” button. He knows his information is sufficient before he clicks, because the join page has functionality to check for unique username, email, and password strength. His account is now created!
Leo and Bill’s Cafe
Leo and his business partner Bill have finally turned their small cafe dream into a reality. After having been open for a year the cafe has a steady regular clientele and is seeing new ones every week. The last six months have seen a steady increase in people linked to the cafe’s facebook page, and many of the regulars follow the Twitter feed to hear about specials and live music performances on the weekends. Neither is particularly tech savvy, and the fourteen hour work days often leave little time for updating and formatting feeds to the webpage, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. With SNOctopus, Leo spends two minutes each morning updating his site and updates are seamlessly posted to all three locations. With the help of one of Bill’s friends, they film a short 30 second commercial at no cost, but are discouraged by advertising rates on local cable networks. Leo has the noticed aYouTube connect option on his SNOcto account page, so he decides to give it a shot after updating the website that day. Five minutes later their commerical is on YouTube with links promoting it on Facebook and Twitter. It really was that easy.
Lev’s Art Gallery
Lev Friedman, a local art retailer, just signed a deal with a young promising artist. Excited about the new limited edition lithographs, he logged into his website’s blog to tell his customers about the exciting news.
Mr. Friedman wrote a blog post, inviting his loyal customers to come to the store, and enjoy the new selection of prints. He added some pictures of the new pieces as well as a discount coupon.
Once Mr. Friedman finished his post, one click on the ‘submit’ button automatically distributed the news to his 400 followers on Facebook, 200 followers on Twitter as well as an email sent to 150 of his most loyal customers.
Mr. Smith’s Unpopular Blog
Mr. Smith would like to automate the forwarding of links to his blog articles to popular social networks because he currently does not have a large following. Every time he posts a new blog article, he would like a link back to the article to be posted to his facebook, twitter, dig, tumblr, etc accounts.
He sees this as a useful tool to create a larger following of his blog articles by making it more accessible by incorporating his social network accounts. This will enable other users of the social networks to discovery his blog.
He also sees the potential to make this into and endless loop; where when someone comments on his blog, the comment will be forwarded to the other social networks and the blog itself in order to spark more discussion of this blog.
Frank the Fanatic
Frank is your typical obsessive fan. He loves everything about company XYZ including all the events and deals they host and deliver. Thankfully XYZ uses Snoctopus, so Frank, the avid fan, can simply login to his facebook and receive all the latest deals and updates from XYZ. Thanks to Snoctopus Frank never leaves Facebook.
Statistics
Waldo started a blog where he posted his short stories so the internet would think he was a totally righteous dude. After coordinating his blog with his other social network accounts using SNOctopus, he needed a way to see what networks were getting him the most feedback. Since SNOctopus uses bit.ly to shorten urls to his original blog where is stories were, he could log onto SNOctopus and see click statistics that listed referrers to his blog. He saw that he was gaining the most popularity through twitter, and adjusted his marketing strategy accordingly. Now, Waldo is living the high life and laughing easy!
