Troubleshooting
The InputStream Helper add-on is there to avoid any issues in the first place. That said, DRM playback is a potential minefield. Not only does it rely on Widevine infrastructure for licensing, it needs a recent and support client library, a supported platform and capable hardware.
So to help in troubleshooting, you can start the InputStream Helper or access its settings. This gives you a few options:
This information window shows all the relevant information to understand your current installation.
It includes: Kodi information, InputStream information and Widevine information.
HINT: If you opened an issue with an add-on related to playback issues, making a screenshot with this dialog present could be helpful.
In case you suspect InputStream Helper to be causing issues, you can try to disable it and see if your playback issues are in effect caused by InputStream Helper.
NOTE: We do not recommend to keep InputStream Helper disabled, since it may cause your Widevine library to become unsupported over time.
In case you think your currently installed Widevine CDM library is missing, broken or unsupported, you can force it to be (re)installed. This replaces any existing library.
In case you want to remove Widevine support, or trigger an automatic reinstallation, you can remove the existing Widevine CDM library using this option.
