Install a Supported Python Version
myHand AI currently support python version 3.8 - 3.11. This wiki page describes how to install a specific python version easily.
Remarks: Python version 3.12 is yet to be fully supported, as v3.12 has issues with package "openai" and "tiktoken". You may still run letmedoit with python 3.12, but some features may not work.
Overview: Use scoop to install Python version 3.11.6
To install scoop, open NON-admin PowerShell terminal app and run:
Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope CurrentUser
Invoke-RestMethod -Uri https://get.scoop.sh | Invoke-Expression
To install Python 3.11.6, open PowerShell terminal app and run:
scoop install git
scoop bucket add versions
scoop install python311
Admin Terminal does not work with scoop by default. Use chocolatey instead.
Read: https://getutm.app/ for setup of Windows 11 on macOS via UTM
Overview: Use chocolatey to install Python version 3.11.9
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force; [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol -bor 3072; iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://community.chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))
