Kibana version: 5.6.3

We use link to Document Context which described in https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/document-context.html in bug reports.

With proper applied filter (which were embedded into URL) it provides context for a problem.

The problem is that besides filtering sometimes it is useful to add or remove some columns from table.

Document Context inherits list of columns from Discovery page but can't be later customized on its own page...

There is expression in URL, like: columns:!(app, message, phone, exception).

I can archive desired result with manually editing query but it is not user friendly solution.

I agree, an easier way to change columns would be nice.

In the current Kibana version there is an option to add columns also on Surrounding Docs page:

  1. Expand a row on the Surrounding Docs page
  2. In the appeared flyout find the field in question
  3. Click on the "Toggle column" action next to that field.

Hope, this helps!
