In Cruiser, a "Profile" consists of a routing profile, the application settings and appearance. The "My Collection" (internally-stored routes, tracks and favorites) is not affected.

You can use the default "Car" profile for normal fast-routing A-to-B, and the "Motorcycle" profile tailored to avoid motorways, cities etc. You can also change the "Routing" preference within a profile, so you could use the "Motorcycle" profile all the time, and just change the "Routing" preset from "Fast" to "Curvy" depending on your riding preference that day. See the Routing settings for details.

Managing Profiles

Tapping the 3 dots on the right-hand side of the Profile menu opens a list of options. From here you can create a new profile (using the existing one as a "base" template), import/export a Profile (for use with another device or safe backup), share the profile to a contact via an application like e-mail or Dropbox, and reset the Profile back to its default configuration.

The default Profiles cannot be deleted, but custom ones (identified with a *) can be removed by swiping them to the left.

Day/Night Profile

Another way of using a Profile is to customize Cruiser for both day and night operation - for night-time use you will probably want a dark-themed map with the information panels having a subtle background color.

In our Profile menu, we have created a duplicate of our normal "Motorcycle" profile and named it "Night Mode":

(the asterisk tells us that it's a custom-made profile)

We can then change the appearance of Cruiser using the "Application" menu, adjusting the colors and use the "Map" menu to change the theme. Here's an example of the 2 Motorider themes, standard and dark - with a different color-scheme for the panels/text:

Profiles as a "Sandbox"

If you wish to experiment with a range of settings and routing configurations, a 2nd Profile makes an ideal test environment. This will allow you to instantly switch back to your standard layout/settings if needed.
