The blacklight-cornell container image uses official Ruby Docker image based on the Debian OS.
Debian is a free operating system. - https://www.debian.org/\
They release a new version of the OS roughly every 3 years.
Currently, this project uses release version 12 (Bookworm).
The end of life for Bookworm is 2026/06/10.
It would be ideal to start working on migrating to version 13 in 2025.
The blacklight and blacklight-cornell is written in Ruby.
We currently use Ruby version 3.2.2.
The end of life for Ruby 3.2 is expected to be 2026-03-31.
