Major features and changes:

  • Added editing support to hex view (it's still an experimental feature
    because of problems with the Veles backend).

Minor features and changes:

  • A lot of compatibility fixes for macOS:
    • Fixed TLS cert validation problems.
    • Enable high-DPI support.
    • Fixed-width fonts work correctly now.
    • Fixed CMAKE_OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET, which prevented Veles from being run on
      some macOS versions.
  • Hex view:
    • Added 'Save chunk to file' and 'Select chunk' commands.
    • Performance of hex view rendering has been greatly improved.
    • The number of hex columns is now changeable from the hex view tab and
      adjustable per-tab.
    • Two new buttons in the search dialog: "Find Previous" and "Replace
      Previous".
    • Partially visible rows are now rendered.
    • Added 'Save as...' option.
  • Visualizations:
    • Trigram view can now use orthogonal projection.
    • Points in the trigram view are now scaled properly.
    • Current visualization settings are now highlighted in the UI.
    • Axes can now be hidden.
    • Trigram colors are now changeable in the options dialog.
    • Axes are now smoothly animated when changing coordinate system.
  • Added more keyboard shortcuts:
    • Ctrl + PgUp/PgDn for tab navigation.
    • Ctrl + Up/Down for hex view scrolling.
    • + / - for changing hex columns number.
  • Added "Apply" and "Reset to defaults" button to the options dialog.
  • Default theme was changed to dark.
  • UI fonts are now selectable.
  • Corrected invalid verification of TLS cert when connecting to the backend
    (valid certificates with non-matching fingerprint are not accepted anymore).
  • Fixed connecting when a local server is already running.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed autoscrolling when moving cursor.
  • Fixed multiple rendering glitches in the hex view.
  • Fixed a glitch in the trigram view (manipulator quaternions were not
    normalized).
  • Fixed minimap crash on small files.
  • Hovered item in the database view wasn't highlighted in dark theme.
  • Fixed cursor movement in server URL field in the connection dialog.
  • We now wait for a local server to exit when Veles is closed.
  • Empty files are now correctly handled.
