using

• launch this program (hdr icon will appear in tray)
• right click - select hdr mode
• launch your game / movie
• right click - select hdr mode again to disable

now you can call hdr_switch_tray while it is running (in the tray) with a paramaeter 'hdr'

hdr_switch_exe hdr

and it will toggle it for you
