The current model of the GaiaLab project aims to be able to solve both single sources and binary sources. To represent the astrometric measurements for single stars, 5 astronomical parameters are sufficient:the parallax, the two equatorial coordinates and the the two coresponding proper motions. Thus, about 15% of the entries in The Hipparchos Catalogue are actually binaries or multiple stars and require special solutions due to their various manifestations of multiplicity. The implemented solution is to take into account 7 astronomical parameters, adding the acceleration of the proper motion in the two directions.
