Version 6.0.0 Alpha

This is a preview release for Avalon 6.0. It is provided so that interested Avalon users and potential adopters can take a look at Avalon running on the modern Hydra/Fedora 4 stack. The official 6.0 release will happen in late 2016.

• The Physical Description value for an item (displayed in the Format facet) is now taken from the displayMetadata datastream rather than MODS metadata. This resolves behavior where importing a catalog record might overwrite the real physical type of the item—for example, if a catalog record includes both audio and video materials derived from the same performance.
