qBittorrent Windows to Linux Migration Tool

Planning to move from Windows to Linux, but worried about manually re-adding all the torrents you have seeding in qBittorrent? Well, here's something to make it easier!

Usage

Downloading

Download the executable from here. Ignore the warnings, it's safe.

OR download and install Python from here. Then download this script and run it.

Converting the Fastresume file

  1. Press Windows Key+R (or search Run in the start menu). Type appdata and press Enter.

  2. Go to the folder named Local in the newly opened window.

  3. Find and go to the folder named qBittorrent.

  4. You will find a folder named BT_Backup, copy that folder to your desktop.

  5. Enter into the newly copied BT_Backup folder on your desktop and copy the path.

  6. Now open the converter.exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

N.B. Windows may flag the file as a virus. Don't worry, it's a false positive. Click on More Info and you will get the option to Run Anyway.
