Provisioning 3.200
This is a major release with many breaking changes while also including a general maintenance update.
This release takes major steps towards providing the best experience for Windows 11 devices and leaving Windows 10 behind. That does not mean these packages will no longer work on Windows 10, simply they are now built to provide the best experience for Windows 11.
What's Changed
New UUID
The UUID of each package has been regenerated! This is a critical change meaning all previous package versions are no longer associated with these new packages even though they use the same name.
Documentation
Documentation was a focus of this release. You will notice updated documentation across the entire repository.
Removal of Policies
A large focus of this release is trimming down the scope of each package. I am trying to keep these packages simpler and more general instead of specific to my needs.
As an example, I removed trivial policies such as disabling Cortana during OOBE as Cortana is no longer used in Windows 11 setup anyway.
Removed Provisioned Apps
Previously many of the packages would uninstall provisioned apps that were preinstalled with Windows. This list has been significantly trimmed and now aligns with Windows 11. I have also decided that any package meant to be used after setup will no longer remove any provisioned apps.
Installed Provisioned Apps
Only apps that do not come pre-installed with Windows 11 are now installed. The exception is Terminal. Terminal will be installed on Windows 10, or updated on Windows 11.
