Big Picture

Sebastian Matyas edited this page Jun 15, 2020 · 7 revisions

The following diagram shows the overall architecture on our infrastructure which can be used as a blueprint for other deployments - the architecture is based on the network zone policy concept of the Federal IT Steering Unit (FITSU, https://www.isb.admin.ch/) - Official Document.

The backend services for the CovidCode App are hosted on the following Federal Office of Information Technology, Systems and Telecommunication (FOITT) Atlantica Cloud Components:

CAP = SUSE Cloud Application Plattform (Coud Foundry)

CaaSP = SUSE Container as a Service Plattform (Kubernetes)

Internally we differentiate between the black and the red system. The black system is on the left side and is the system used by the health authorities (HA - mostly doctors) developed by FOITT (https://www.bit.admin.ch/bit/en/home.html) and descibed in this repository (admin-ch). The red system which includs the mobile app is used by the public and is eveloped by Ubique (https://www.ubique.ch/) and described in detail in their DP3T GitHub repository.

CAZ = Central Access Zone

SSZ = Shared Server Zone

The general flow between the black and the red system is shown in the following diagram:
