If you have an SSD, exclude your AV (I'm looking at you, Essentials) from real-time scanning your AA2 play & maker folders, slows down your computer dramatically since this program writes about 120MB of data per second to disk on an SSD
-
If you have multiple HDDs, place AA2Install on a different physical drive than the one that has AA2Installed on it to avoid the disk head moving back and forth
-
Similarly, if you have it installed on a HDD defrag your disk regularly, should be without saying
-
Enable NTFS Compression for your AA2 data folder, useful for normal HDDs for faster disk access and SSDs for less space usage (saves me 15GB)
