Explanations for the Users

Why should you use America/Chicago instead of US/Central?

I.e. <Country-Full Letter>/<City> instead of <Country-2 Letter>/<Timezone> Using Central as an example:
If you need to access data before 1966, US/Central will not correctly return times that were under daylight saving time at the time. You need to use America/Chicago for that (or the relevant city for your site, if DST isn't observed normally).

Before 1966, DST was observed locally/at the state level. The US/* timezones only have federal/national level DST observation times in them (after 1966, it's fine, since all DST is federal after that).

However, the America/<City_Name> timezone names preserve the local observations pre-1966, so they'll always be correct.

Post-1966 US/Central = America/Chicago, but pre-1966, they are not.

It's also an issue if you live somewhere like in Arizona, or part of Idaho, maybe Iowa? Where half the state observes DST and half does not. There are specific city names for the affected regions so times in that area will properly follow DST (or not) whereas a generic US/Mountain, for example, will not.
