Describe the solution you'd like
Use PyMeshLab in place of the xvfb + meshlabserver spawned as subprocess to convert WRL to CTM format.

Possible replacement code

import pymeshlab as ml
ms = ml.MeshSet()
ms.load_new_mesh('/path/to/data.wrl')
ms.save_current_mesh('/path/to/output/data.ctm', lossless=True, save_vertex_color=False)
