To use this script, follow the instruction below:
1. Download the script as a ZIP and extract it into the folder of your choice or clone the repository.
2. Make sure to set the script as executable. chmod +x ApexCacheLauncher
3. Move the ApexCacheLauncher file into the /steamapps/shadercache/1172470/DXVK_state_cache/ folder in whatever SteamLibrary folder you have Apex Legends installed to.
4. Choose how you want to launch the script. You may make a desktop file for it, add it to your startup commands or as a systemd service, or add it to your Steam launch options for Apex Legends (recommended). To add the script to your launch options, simply add <PATH_TO_YOUR_STEAM_LIBRARY>/steamapps/shadercache/1172470/DXVK_state_cache/ApexCacheLauncher; to the beginning of your prexisting launch options, or use <PATH_TO_YOUR_STEAM_LIBRARY>/steamapps/shadercache/1172470/DXVK_state_cache/ApexCacheLauncher; %command% if you do not already have launch options set for Apex Legends. Be sure to replace <PATH_TO_YOUR_STEAM_LIBRARY> with the correct directory. By default this is ~/.local/share/Steam/.
