At the moment, our Makefile.am hard-codes:

libscrypt_memlimit_la_CFLAGS=-U_POSIX_C_SOURCE -U_XOPEN_SOURCE

That's fine, but as noted in that PR (#349), it lacks the flexibility of the whole apisupport infrastructure.
