When $whois === $whoisBackup, the synergywholesaledomains_getConfigArray function was returning early and never turning the whoisUpdate setting off.
This was causing significant performance issues when viewing the domain list. I was seeing page load times over 60 seconds. It was executed once for each domain in the list, requiring the whois.json file to be downloaded each time.
I've tried to change as little as possible. I think the flow would be better if this section and the one for API connection testings was moved into separate functions.
