In this session, we focus on the use of translation alignment as a tool for language pedagogy. After reporting the results of a study on how translation alignment leads to vocabulary learning and its comparison with learning with digital flashcards, we introduce the translation of the beginning sentence in Herodotus in New Persian without any knowledge in Ancient Greek. This is followed by our report about the first platform for teaching Ancient Greek in Persian.
