3d printed case
This is the original design. It might be worth checking improved versions from the community:
- Another GB Interceptor case by pkerga (better access to on/off button, better LED visibility, M2 screws, adapts to GBC)
- 3d-printed shell for 1.6mm PCB on printables.com by @remy (thinner bottom to work with 1.6mm PCBs instead of the usual 1mm)
- GB Interceptor case by LUC4R4T0R Improved version based on AngryHelder's variant of the original 3d-printed case
Instructions
For this cartridge you will need a 3d printer and the following items:
- Three M2.5x4 skrews with a flat head
- Three heat-set inserts with the measures M2.5x4x3.5 (that is a M2.5 thread with a length of 4mm and an outer diameter of 3.5mm)
You can find the STL files for this case in the case folder. Slice them in your preferred slicer (used Cura with 0.2mm layer height). Be aware that the bottom piece requires supports. I printed it with the text "GB Interceptor" facing downwards, which did not exactly result in beautiful results. If you are confident in removing supports you can rotate it such that the supports are on the inside of the cartridge, but I found it too difficult to remove them without damaging the thin walls.
For assembly details, please refer to the order and build video.
You might also be interested in a variant by AngryHelder that should be easier to print with a nicer finish, but requires you to glue parts together.
