This could probably be refactored somewhat to generalize the metadata idea (and/or use subclasses to isolate this "stapled on" support), but I need to get back to more pressing Adbeat work. I've committed and pushed analogous support to the version-2.2 branch so I can import cascading.solr-2.2-SNAPSHOT for the Adbeat build, but I held off releasing a version 2.2.5 in case you'd like to see some changes. Feel free to deny this pull request if you'd like to see significant changes first.
