SamanthaMcElhinney/README.md

Hi there! My name is Sam (she/her) 🌻

A passionate frontend developer located in Seattle, WA

🌸 I'm driven by an innate desire to make a positive impact, with previous experience as a medical speech language pathologist. Throughout my career, I have excelled in critical thinking, collaborating and communicating on technical matters in a fast-paced environment, skills that have seamlessly transferred to software development. As I progress in my career, I plan to showcase my ongoing learning and projects in this space, delivering beautiful, responsive, and accessible web designs that cater to all users. I enjoy embracing new challenges and finding innovative solutions to create impactful and inclusive experiences with a strong interest in UI/UX.

🌼 I’m currently working towards becoming a full stack engineer.

🌸 Fun fact: I grew up on a farm in the midwest and specialized in dysphagia and communication devices prior to tech.

🌼 Try to convince me that buying a coffee and new plant doesn't solve all my problems.

What I'm Currently Learning

Since moving over to TypeScript and realizing the advantages of statically-typed languages, I've been self-learning Express and PostgresSQL to enhance my ability to develop full-stack personal projects and ship backend code. I encountered deployment challenges with my latest projet, Pawsome Connections due to the requirement of an API key with a time-limited access bearer token. This experience highlighted the limitations of relying on free public APIs. Consequently, my broader aspiration is to gain proficiency in various backend technologies.
