Polyphone 2.5.0 is now stable. The proposed roadmap listed in davy7125/polyphone#205 states that 2.5.0 would be a performance improvement patch (already released), and then in the near future Polyphone3 would be the SFe update.

I'll first release version 2.5 of Polyphone with an optimized sound engine, for finishing what I started. This version will be able to read the DMOD chunk but not write it so that the 2.04 standard is still used. The custom default modulators will be copied in every instrument if a save occurs. I'll not split the bank number into MSB / LSB yet.
Then, let's say version 3.0 of Polyphone, will use the SFe format by default, sf2 being an export. Polyphone 2.5 will still be alive and will possibly receive bug fixes.

To facilitate the implementation of SFe, RC2 is intended to be a stable specification that Polyphone3 can be written to.

While in a discussion post, we planned to release RC2 on the 11th of January, we've postponed it due to the release of Polyphone 2.5.0, and also due to a holiday for me.

Development will continue on the 3rd of January.

Now that Polyphone 2.5 is released, RC2 is intended to be the stable specification that is used for Polyphone3. The release on 11 January 2025 including the logo assets will be RC3, and there's a good chance that RC3 will be declared as the final version.
