The study titled "Association between Patient Race and Ethnicity and Use of Invasive Ventilation in the United States" investigates disparities in the administration of invasive ventilation, a critical treatment for respiratory failure, across different racial and ethnic groups. Conducted across multiple centers using data from the MIMIC-IV and eICU databases. The research adjusts for various covariates and explores how these disparities impact 28-day mortality rates. The findings indicate that Asian, Black, and Hispanic patients receive invasive ventilation at significantly lower rates than White patients.
