Feature requests:

Database & MSF Admin can search the database by first name, last name, class, zip code. Any other info? Admin can create subgroups with emails – must be able to get a comma denom. list to use for Constant Contact?

Admin can modify info in the database and can add or delete people.

If a person goes on the database page and registers – they first enter name, email address and their class of graduation. If the data (full name and class of graduation] matches what’s in the database, they get an email from a [email protected] (or similar address) and a link to log in to complete registration. They are asked to enter other info: Address, college attended, etc, , but are not required to do so. They hit submit and are “confirmed” and may then create a user name and password and log in. Then they are a “Confirmed Alum” and can then search for names of specific alums in their and other classes or access a list of alumni from their class or other classes – they see name & class info only of other alums.

If a ‘Confirmed Alum” wants to connect with someone who has an email address in the directory, they can click on a “Connect With Alum Link” that allows them to type in the alum’s name and class and if it matches the database info, it will send a message to the target person that reads: “Alum Name from the MHS Class of ____ wants to connect with you. If you would like to connect with this alum name, please use this email address.” But if the confirmed alum enters something that does not match the database info, then the confirm alum see a pop up message saying “Sorry, the information you input does not match alumni records”. Also, that confirmed alum can choose to email the admin and ask for help.

A Confirmed Alum can update their address, email address and add optional info [e.g. college info, employer – what’s in the alum book?]

If a person tries to register (as in item 2 above) but is not confirmed bc info does not match the database, then an email notification goes to the Admin person or the [email protected] forwarding the info that was attempted by the person. The nonconfirmed alum gets an email stating the info they submitted was not able to be confirmed so the Alumni administrator will be in touch soon to verify their information.

For later versions – may alum submit news, can we list links to Facebook pages for classes that have been set up etc? What other features are desired? We want to share MSF news and suggest they learn about how alums can support MSF/the schools?
