Jobs & Comms AOR alignment #301
Comments
I agree with everything that is written here, and would suggest that we need to find a lead for the Jobs AOR, as I'm not living up to expectations (for a bunch of reasons, non of them lack of love for the cause) @CatarinaSilva any thoughts? |
wondering if there's any news on this? |
Issue is stale |
@PedroGFonseca @thecarolmartins I'm working on finding a new Lead for the Jobs AOR. Will keep you updated if there's any news :) |
@minhhoang1023 @PedroGFonseca @thecarolmartins can we close this one? |
Clarification: the Documentation AOR is responsible for reviewing contents but it falls under each AOR to create their own content and submit a PR for it on the Wiki repo. For that reason I have removed the Documentation AOR label on this one, to avoid people from feeling it will be resolved by this AOR. |
@TSFelg have you checked this issue? |
This issue and topic seems to be very interesting and important. I would like to give some help on it... |
Proposal
As discussed previously in #227, some symbiotic synergy can be gained here between the Jobs and "Comms & Bebes" AORs. We propose an official collaboration that can benefit not only the two AORs, but the LDSA as a whole in our brand exposure and community.
We propose the following integrations:
Social Media
Use the social medial channels to promote the Jobs page (example post: 2 new jobs added!). This will increase our brand exposure and the interest of companies to collaborate with us (and therefore increase the number of job postings on our page).
LDSA website and Jobs Landing page
Currently, this page is abandoned, with broken links to old sections of the wiki. There are a few inconsistencies in the behaviour of the website, which fall under the responsibility of "Comms & Bebes" AOR (for example the jobs page disappears from the headers if you move out of the main page). This is an excellent opportunity to define what is the goal of the Jobs landing page on the website, what changes need to be made and what points of contact need to be provided. Currently, this page is linking to a deprecated page of our old wiki. (@Juliana-R, tagging you for context). (This is directly related to Jobs OKR 2).
So what now?
As the first plan of action, I suggest a brainstorming meeting between the Jobs & Comms AOR to line up ideas, with the presence of the Documentation AOR. I'm assigning the relevant people from these AORs. If I'm missing someone, I apologize. If you feel like you can contribute to this mission, assign yourself! Join the effort! (We need it...)
