Hardware setup

The following page contains necessary information to build a wheel from scratch

3D printing

All of the 3D prints necessary are found here (black parts in CAD design on home page)
Recommendations: Use BambuLab printers with a PLA filament, using 'tree - automatic' support at 45 degrees.

Additional materials

Additional materials, with part numbers, references, and descriptions, can be found here
Some parts, such as head-fixing bars, depend on photometry/head-fix setup.

Parts, by assembly

Parts are named (i.e, 'Rotary Encoder') and referenced (i.e, R4) in the additional materials link above or here: part no. & descriptions

Wheel/rotary assembly

Use 6mm hex nuts and 6mm I.D. spacers between metal parts to minimize friction and to ensure balance of rotation. It is recommended to use a 6mm I.D./8mm O.D. cuff between the axle and the skateboard bearings to ensure balance.

Liquid assembly

Liquid Assembly

Solenoid is connected to Arduino via a 2-pin JST (L8) (ground + digital pin) through a solid-state relay (L7) to Arduino analog pin. Tubing (L3) connects syringe to solenoid valve and solenoid to spouts (L4).
