RP 1 v1.1 Installation Instructions

Note: This installation guide is extremely old. Please refer to https://github.com/KSP-RO/RP-1/wiki/Installation instead.

If you do not follow these instructions, you will not have a working game. Please read through them, it is not difficult to install properly.

1. Install a new copy of KSP 1.3.1
2. Install CKAN -> Point it at your new KSP 1.3.1 Install
3. Tell CKAN to allow Compatible KSP Versions of 1.3.0

4. Via CKAN, install Realism Overhaul and its dependencies
5. Via CKAN, install RP-1 and its dependencies
6. Via CKAN, install DMModuleScienceAnimateGeneric
7. Load KSP and be sure it is working
8. Install Backports and Patches (see below)
9. Load KSP and be sure it is working
10. Add Part Mods, RSSVE, anything else you want.
11. Enjoy

Backports and Patches

With KSP having moved past 1.3.1 quite a while ago, there have been some mods that we have had to modify in order to keep things in working order for RP-1. These backports ARE REQUIRED for your game to operate properly.

1. WHEN UPGRADING A MOD, DELETE THE FOLDER OF THE OLD VERSION OUT OF YOUR GAMEDATA FOLDER. DO NOT OVERWRITE
2. BE VERY CAREFUL if you go back into CKAN as it might try to overwrite these backports and patches. DO NOT LET IT
3. Install updated Contract Configurator -> Contract Configurator version 1.27.2 RP-1
4. Install updated Real Fuels Backport -> Real Fuels v.12.7.3
5. Install updated CustomBarnKit -> CustomBarnKit RO-1.1.19.0
6. Install updated Kerbal Construction Time -> Kerbal Construction Time - RP-1 Version
7. Install updated X-Science -> [X] Science Update 5.17-RP1v2
8. Install updated B9 Procedural Wings -> 1.3.1 B9 Procedural Wings Backport
9. Did you follow the instructions #1-8? If you did not, we will not provide support.
10. See above.
