AfyaMap is mapping project that locates all health initiatives in Tanzania; The map provides detailed information about the health projects and facilities and allow users to write reviews on quality of services offered and provides ease of access. AfyaMap as a Web application will allow users to write reviews and comment on different health initiatives from the quality of services offered by the health centers and usage of available resources such as medicines and other utilities. Individuals will have an opportunity to report directly to the authorities and to the public about possible misconducts and abuse of available resources this will help the authorities to take actions to improve the services offered and hold responsible personnel accountable for their actions. The project will also help donors and health projects sponsors to have a real time track of the usage of their funds and get real time feedback from targeted community if the funds they are releasing they meet the required purpose. The project will also help the government to understand the area of focus on improving the quality of health services and implementing new strategies to improve those areas by working with the people directly. Currently in Tanzania there are so many challenges facing the health sector in Tanzania and government is looking for innovative low cost solutions to tackle those problems Among the problems includes, tracking distribution of medicines and resources, corruption in the health sector, quality of services offered by the health officials and access to information to the community and health sponsors. This project seems to solve those problems that makes inevitable for the government not to cooperate.
