 Aburaya is a Japanese fried chicken joint, and also has a bunch of beers and alcohol. They provide some vegan options like **fried vegan chicken** (probably Layonna) with many seasonings to pick from, fried cauliflower, and fried tofu, as well as a few appetizers. It's pretty tasty, nothing amazing. They serve the mains plates with a huge chunk of cabbage so definitely go if you're a cabbage fan.

 We got a Yucatan speciality of a Panucho, like a puffed crispy tortilla with some beans in it and with toppings. The veggie version was standard Mexican veggie options, so all in all it wasn't too exciting, and like $6.50. You can get very good specialty tacos for that price.

 Vietnamese place with a few veggie options. I got the **tofu in clay pot**. The rice was nice, had some flavour and got crispy. But it was pretty let down by the tofu and veg. They picked very watery vegetables that didn't really gel well with the dish, kinda the standard lazy veg substitutions of broccoli and zucchini. I wouldn't really go back there when there's better ones in the area, like the beyond bibimbap at [Gyu-Kaku](/places/gyu-kaku).

 So far this is the best Ethiopian/Eritrean food I've had in the Bay. We got the **injerito** and **samosas to start** which were both excellent. The injerito was injera slathered with a spiced filling and rolled up (v tasty), and the samosas came with this great basil side sauce/topping. We got the **vegetarian combination platter** which came with a whole assortment of dishes. Between those it was enough for 3 people (with one not being that hungry) and costed around $45 between all of us for the food including tax and tip.

 The Sichuan/Japanese we all needed. They say they're a fusion restaurant but there's just two menus attached to each other. The Sichuan side specializes in their dry pot, which I might get next time but it's too big/expensive for one. I got their **mapo tofu** and rice. It was a little disappointing because there was no Sichuan pepper at all, but it was still tasty. There's quite a few veg options, all the standards, and I'd try more of them. It did come to $20 with tips and tax at the end though, it's the kinda place you'd be more happy paying 15 for a casual meal.

 This is a Japanese curry place. They have a vegan black curry, it's nice with good veggies and a charry gravy, but I haven't found myself wanting to go back. It was a little one-note by the end. I guess a nice lunch, costed a little under $16 with tax and tip included. That being said I don't tend to love Japanese curry so take it with a grain of salt.

 This place does ~classic~ thick round rice noodle dishes. The only vegan thing there is a dry style which comes with a bunch of toppings and sauce. I imagine something is lost in this vegan version (and the soup has chicken in it so don't get that). I needed a lot of the chilli condiments served with it. But an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

 More like Fox and Yes please. This has quickly become my favourite bakery/cafe in the city. The **vegan sandwich** they have is the best around, they make all the bread themselves, they've always got a line up of vegan savoury and sweet pastries (not as good as the sandwiches but fun and cheap), and the prices are surprisingly cheap. I think $10 for the sandwich.
