Buffs Mounts (Higher speed based on riding skill, infinite stamina, very easy knockdowns, mount-walkable stables, fixedeye working on mounts) #1078
base: main
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
Free sprint will empower horse archers quite a bit, but that's already strong. Also whippers and the like. There are worse cheesy stuff, though. |
throw a rock at the saiga and they fall off deadass |
Increasing the move speed AND giving it infinite stamina will make fighting any mounted archers absolute cancer, more than it was. And no, throwing a "rock" won't solve anything, your opponent can just keep toggling it on and off whenever you get decently close. The way saiga works rn is fine imo, if your stamina gets depleted you can still walk around on top of them. If you want to make cavalry fun for both sides, fix saigas not being able to lock view and face a single direction for melee. |
while I think mounted archers will be stronger, its more a concern of people using these for melee which isn't viable due to direction lock and that you cannot parry on siegaback. sprinting being an instant knockdown will make it pretty hard to melee now since siegas cannot be armored for those slower-up melee in short-range strikes and you'll fall over paralyised if your mount dies, preventing you doing anything. |
Added fixed eye working on mounts. |
About The Pull Request
Makes stable (and I guess that one innkeep) doors mount-walkable
Makes riding skill increase riding speed:
EXPERT RIDING (Current):
EXPERT RIDING (Changed):
Sprinting while mounted no longer drains your stamina, meaning a mount can sprint infinitely.
If you or the mount take ANY damage from ANY source while sprinting, you get knocked over instantly.
While somewhat extreme, I've a decade of observing gamers and I know you can't give them an inch with mobility. Even without sprint juking can become a big, tenable issue. No sprint-juking for you without huge risk.
Fixed-eye now works on mounts
The sprint has a windup and winddown:

Why It's Good For The Game
Generally makes mounts way more usable (why was sprinting on a horse making you tired?)
