About The Pull Request

A PR to fix and improve bits of Snowglobe, screenshots below.

The following notable changes are:

  1. Gives the warden's office an overhaul, moving it to brig desk while fixing it's issues such as access.
  2. Touches up security locker room, removing tracker implants on the desk while moving things around.
  3. Removes a completely empty room in medbay and moves paramedic dispatch there.
  4. Removes a syndicate item (EMP grenades) from the armory while adding missing armory equipment, as well as a bullet drive.
  5. Moves the primary tool storage south of paramedic dispatch and turns the room into a cafe instead, moving all the commissary office's cafe supplies there instead.
  6. Adds missing Deluxe Silicate Selections to R&D. (fixes 'Deluxe Silicate Selections' missing from Snowglobe NovaSector/NovaSector#4437)
  7. Adds a gaming mothroach room.

As well as the smaller changes being:

  1. Adds shutters to robotics surgery
  2. Makes disposals do a better job in containment. (fixes Snowglobe Disposals Mass Driver is just... NovaSector/NovaSector#4575)
  3. Added another tile of table in R&D desk
  4. Adds missing access helpers to most of maints. (fixes Basically all of inner maints on Snowglobe station don't have access helpers NovaSector/NovaSector#4199)
  5. Removed dorms vendor from public laundry.
  6. Added missing APC in brig
  7. Connected some pipes in primary hallway
  8. Adds some decoration right outside paramedic's dispatch.
  9. Takes the golden sauna airlock and toilet from the HoS and gives it to the one who deserves it more. (Captain)
  10. Moves things around R&D, bringing the circuit imprinter closer

How This Contributes To The Nova Sector Roleplay Experience

Pretty much improves the map.

The reasoning for every change:

  1. The warden office was tucked in the middle of nowhere on brig and all officers could open it. The newer office should encourage wardens to stick in their office more as well as more interaction with whoever's outside
  2. An overall improvement to the security locker room. The trackers are usually on the armory for a reason so if somebody has to be tracked they'll have to consult a command staff or the warden
  3. That one room in medbay was completely empty, vents and.. that's it? It was essentially wasted space and was better off being removed.
  4. EMP grenades are contraband, it makes no sense for security to have it in their armory in the open. The item additions are for consistency, especially when items such as the ablative trench coat also count as antag objectives.
  5. One of my gripes with Snowglobe is that there's always a lack of places to hang out around that isn't the bar, nightclub or dorms (and I don't even mean that kind of hang out!), I figured the cafe would be a better replacement for those who just want a relaxed place to roleplay:tm: on
  6. Consistency with the other maps
  7. Gaming moth, fills up the spot where old warden's quarters used to be. Be sure to open the wardrobe for them once in a while.

As for the smaller changes:

  1. Consistency with the other maps, prevents others from seeing you slicing open people and shoving in implants.
  2. Makes disposals work better pretty much
  3. More places to hand out parts or such
  4. Consistency with access
  5. Let's.. not encourage that in public when there's already enough private spots for that.
  6. Ensures brig (the room with the cells) gets power
  7. Makes atmos' jobs hopefully a bit easier as well as ventcrawling creatures'
  8. That spot looked a bit empty, so I've slapped in a tree.
  9. This one is more of a nitpick but I find it really silly that HoS, the one in the second bottom of chain of command, gets the best bathroom out of everyone else, gold plated and everything. I've only taken their golden airlock and toilet because the idea of thermiting into their bathroom and hijacking the sauna is still funny
  10. Quality of life, science's still a bit messy but maybe I'll bother with that in another PR.
