The Quotinator Home

The Quotinator gem came about, like all good things, from a certain level of laziness of not wanting to remember certain repetitive tasks. The repetitive task in question: Replacing all of the fancy Microsoft markup from a copied piece of text into a more web-friendly variant.

The latest stable gem is available at https://rubygems.org/gems/quotinator

Current functionality

Currently the gem will allow for replacing all fancy characters in a string, as well as functions for replacing double quotes, single quotes, ellipsis, and the long dash separately.

Future versions

There is a thought of adding reciprocal functions to add those characters back in, although at this time it would be more as an exercise than for any real use.
