Deep Foundations
Transmitting complete deep foundation project files that include details on site conditions using current methods can be described at best as a not-so-straightforward task. Extending the DIGGS schema to include deep foundation data will enable transmitting complete records in a single file.
We invite all interested individuals to offer suggestions on what pile properties should be captured along with testing and installation methods and data. Please navigate at the discussion board linked below to contribute.

The effort to extend the schema is based on best practices, experience with various load test databases and input from deep foundation experts.

The search for properties to be added to the DIGGS schema included publicly available load test databases, private load test databases, publications and input from industry experts, and is still ongoing. If you have identified any missing values from this list, please navigate here and create a new post with your comments. A lot of the properties and many schematics are derived from the doctoral dissertation, Machairas, N. (2020). "Assessment of Pile Design Methods Using Advanced Data Analytics." A special thank you to Sharid Amiri for donating a wealth of data from the SR 405 highway expansion project in Orange County, California.
A major infrastructure project in Southern California and its relevant pile driving and instrumentation data present a unique opportunity for a comprehensive data transfer demonstration.
