Project complexity
First of all, we rely on user feedback for addressing problems (Github Issues for DCSFlightpanels or Flightpanel DCS-BIOS fork ). Anyone wanting to dive into the coding part are most welcome, just contact the Staff members on the DCSFP Discord server (DCSFlightpanels) to get help getting started.
History has shown over and over again that between updates of a given DCS module some controls breaks or works only partially. There are also different studios behind these modules, each doing their thing their own way. On top of that there is open beta and the official release which at times work differently from a DCS-BIOS point of view.
This project has grown from a simple key emulator for Saitek Pro Flight Panels to using DCS-BIOS, supporting Stream Deck. DCSFP project relies on DCS-BIOS (not in pure key emulator mode), two USB/HID libraries for hardware communication (Saitek/Stream Deck). For example an update to the Stream Deck firmware can break the opensource library used for communication.
