Yggdrasil VR 2.1.0 - Parry Update

New save is required.

Hello everyone, it's been ages since an update was published for this list, I wanted to surprise everyone with 3.0 sooner than this, but realistically that's going to take a while longer so I bit the bullet and decided to make a quick update that takes care of some much requested additions and also adds in some of the more important VR scene mods. I hope you will all enjoy this update, and for those new to the modlist that this update makes it easier to get into the list without needing to update things :)

1. Gameplay & Content Additions:

- Zdo Immersive Death
  Replaced by
+    Shadow of Skyrim;
+ Gift by Hand VR;
+ VR Equip;
+ Immersive Smithing;
+ Pseudo-Physical Weapon Collision and Parrying;
+ Swap all Campfires with Campfires from Campfire;
- Auto Sneak and Jump VR
  "Replaced" by
+    Papyrus Tweaks (the mod includes a script fix that allows us to use Skyrim's native sneak detection that doesn't require setting things up).

2. Visuals & Audio:

+ Community Shaders
  This adds grass lighting, fixes the light limit and fixes some grass rendering:
+    Light Limit Fix;
+    Grass Lighting;
+    Grass Collision;
+ Grass Sampler Fix;
+ DLSS / FSR2 mod;
+ Creature Height Variance;
- Digitigrade Beast Skeleton for XPMSSE;
  Was broken anyway for the player;
+ Changed the base game graphic presets to include some grass tweaks and disable dynamic resolution.

3. Fixes & Optimization:

- SkySA
  Fixes the issue of unarmed enemies T-posing
- Dynamic Animation Replacer (DAR)
  Replaced by
+    Open Animation Replacer
+ Save Unbaker;
+ Disk Cache Enabler;
+ Animation Queue Fix;
+ Modlist Update Checker;
+ Scripts Carefully Reworked Optimized and Tactfully Enhanced;
+ Drastically lowered piercing and earring distribution chance;
+ Moved setup from game folder files to stock game;
+ Increased base enemy confidence before they surrender;
+ Removed the low light slow down;
+ Disabled the Overlord start game quest;
+ Updated a bunch of DLL mods.

Yggdrasil VR 2.0-5 - Hotfix Update
New save is not required, but you'll need to re-run the Yggdrasil MCM recording (Settings > Mod Configuration > MCM Recorder, and find the Yggdrasil recording in the list, then play it).

This is, hopefully, the last hotfix for 2.0, releasing it perfectly as I'll be on holiday for the next few weeks. This should fix the more pressing issues with the previous versions, and also some issues that I hadn't noticed before (Such as the SPID stuff). Looking forward to getting started on 2.1 after the holiday, and adding even more cool things to the list (and removing some less cool stuff).

#1. Gameplay & Content Additions:

+ NPCs React to Necromancy;
+ Crafting Recipe Distributor;
+ Yelling at the Sky VR.

#2. Visuals & Audio:

+ Splashes of Storms VR;
+ Happy Little Trees - Aspen Addendum;
+ EVE - Slow Time Particle FX Restored.

#3. Fixes & Optimization:

+ Bumped up the size of the player capsule, might deter enemies getting in your face with running attacks;
+ Fixed Bloodskal blade enchantment;
+ Fixed Soul Trap and Spell Research import;
+ Fixed a huge issue with SPID & Base Object Swapper mods not working;
+ Fixed issue with casting left handed, caused by out of date SkySA. The new version should also actually apply its effects to NPCs;
+ Fixed All Appraisal Magic Item spell not working;
+ Fixed Clockwork CTD from enemies respawning (courtesy of QnoisX for MCM Recording);
+ Fixed Vampyrium causing a Project AHO vampire to transform into dust when his body is required for a quest;
+ Removed Thieves Guild Requirements MCM recorder step, as it slows down the MCM recording overall. Will reconsider this mod's presence in the list in 2.1;
- Nerfed Weapon Throw to not stagger unless you're using heavy weapons (Arctal's profile).

First update to Yggdrasil after the release is now out! I think moving the issue management to github has worked great so far, and the crash logs have been tremendously helpful in finding the underlying causes of crashes quite fast. We'll see if there's any further issues after this update, but if nothing major comes up the next version will be a content one, meaning it will not be save safe.

To update just run Wabbajack, download the new version and with the Overwrite toggle enabled, proceed as if you're installing it for the first time (ofc no need to clean reinstall anything nor copy files over). Once it's done you can just start the game.

#1. Fixes & Optimization:

+ Fixed incorrect button prompts in UIs;
+ Fixed missing guide entries leading to not having tutorial prompts;
+ Fixed Visual Animated Enchants "Soul Trap" enchantment crash;
+ Had missed a couple of forwards for the Realm of Lorkhan Gloomshade cell that are now correctly forwarded;
+ Fixed carriage drivers only talking about taking you places when sitting down (not technically a bug, but they barely sit down so for QoL I'm reverting that change made by a mod);
+ Fixed werewolf body clipping;
+ Regenerated LODs and Occlusion, should stop any crashes;

+ Heavily nerfed the distribution of shouts, spells and potions;
+ Fixed frequent crash from NPCs summoning Deadeye Captain, which was wearing a buggy outfit;
+ Fixed fast travel not working correctly due to sunhelm disabling it;
+ Adjusted CACO to no longer require a mortar and pestle to use, this was supposed to be fixed before release but I missed it;
+ Lowered frequency of automated saves from 3 minutes to 6 minutes;
+ Made crafted/collected water visible in inventory;
- Removed option to craft water, collect it from wells instead;

+ Removed skeleton breathing when running, as it's quite obnoxious. You'll still hear it when running out of stamina;
+ Fixed random "Your undead nature is known to everyone" when getting near Nazarick;
+ Fixed full armour not hiding undead nature when playing as Forgotten;
- Removed amulet that hides presence as a Forgotten from starting area. Read the effect description on how to counter being potentially attacked.

The list is dead. Long live the list!

Hello everyone!

First of all, thank you all for waiting for a whole ass year for this to come out, it's definitely been a huge emotional support knowing that everyone here is waiting for my list to come back ❤️ It's definitely been a while, honestly this ended up snowballing from removing Cutting Room Floor to adding some cool new stuff to cleaning up all of my merges and mods, a task which took the bulk of my time, especially before I found out about some of the tricks I mentioned here before.

Secondly, about the name change... "Narsil" was a cool name, still is, however it is technically under the LOTR umbrella, and since I've started accepting donations and that opens up the grey area of whether I'm using LOTR IP to boost my donation revenue, I decided to change the name.. again. The list will now be called Yggdrasil VR, partly because I'm a viking weeb, partly as a reference to Overlord. It's also a signifier of how much the list has changed. Versioning will stay the same, and this will start at version 2.0-3 as the public release, but it's a massive change, especially in the backend and mod selection.

Thirdly, I've decided to move all issues and suggestions off of here to Github. It's neater, and allows for easier archival of issues than Discord threads, and then it's in the same place as the readme: https://github.com/m-vlad/Yggdrasil-VR/wiki !

And finally, without further ado, you can download the first build of Yggdrasil VR below. It might not be 100% bug-free, but it should be way cleaner and more stable than Narsil ever was, and I don't see any immediate issues, so I think it's time for Nar.. I mean Yggdrasil VR to come out of maintenance!
