Hi

Aoetec host firmware for their Smartswitch v6 on their website, but it is not showing through the zwave-js update service. I assume this is because a definition file has not been created.

Is the firmware listed on this Aeotec support article going to be okay to build a definition for, or is there more to the process?

Thanks!

As a third party you can generally create firmware update definition files as long as the firmware itself is hosted by the manufacturer (this is the case) and the manufacturer signs off on the firmware definition file you contribute (this is likely for Aeotec products as they have been active in this repository).
See the Providing firmware definition files section of README.md for more information.

The only roadblock I see here is that there are no direct links to the bare firmware files, just links to ZIP files. This is something the manufacturer can fix though. Best to ask @Aeotec-ccheng.

For an example on how it's done head over to #111

Currently i don't have the OTZ files for ZW110/ZW096 right now which is what is generally needed. It may be possible to host the .EXE more immediately, but if you are looking to update a firmware update definition for ZW096 i can request the OTZ files and update the article to contain them.

I saw SS6 updates as low priority since it didn't seem to add much features, while there are some minor fixes or updates to SDK i didn't feel the need to add them in (as there is always risk with firmware updates) so i try to only add the necessary ones.
