Hello Yves,

Can you check if the PC-300 has any MIDI input capabilities via USB?

I noticed that in the Finale NotePad MIDI setup, the PC-300 is also offered as choice for MIDI output, which might not be correct.

Regards,

Liviu

Hi again Liviu,

Hmm I'm not sure if this is really not correct since the PC-300 indeed has a MIDI output port. However I do not have any experience with this. May be the output port could be used if the issue with the missing MIDI connectors in the software would be fixed.

What do you think?

Best
Yves

The correct question was related to MIDI input, the second part of the question, regarding the Finale NotePad MIDI setup should probably be read as "offered as choice for MIDI input".

The idea is that at application level the device capabilities are obtained from the driver, and if you advertise the PC-300 has a MIDI input via USB, than applications will try to use it.

I don't have the PC-300 manual at hand, so if you have it, please check if the MIDI input is available via USB. If it is not, than the driver should probably be adjusted to reflect this.

Yes, according to the manual, the PC-300 needs to be switched to "PC" mode, then it acts as MIDI interface when connected via USB.

Roland/Edirol PCR-80, -50 and -30 also have been advertised to have this capability, they even offer a MIDI input port for that cause. But I don't know if it needs a driver or is just class compliant.

Roland's XV-2020 synthesizer also can do that with each a MIDI in/out.
