Using an embedded browser on a smart TV the Virtual Y login page is not loading when viewing https://ymcagbw.org/virtual#/login

The rest of the page loads including the instructions above and below the Virtual Y content type.

We have had complaints from members who used to access the classes via the embedded YouTube app on their smart tvs and are now trying to access the content using an embedded browser.

This was tested on an LG with model number 60LB7100-UT

@jimparo is there any way to install Chrome browser there?
I believe there are tough restrictions applied in any Smart TV for embedded browsers, security wise

@podarok There is not an option to install a different browser app on my Smart TV. @Sanchiz has some additional info based on some testing we did together this morning.

@podarok some of the browsers from webOS on older LG models do not render JS components such as Activity Finder, Virtual Y, and Schedules.

According to the documentation, they use WebKit or Chromium, so it means that Chrome is installed already - http://webostv.developer.lge.com/discover/specifications/web-engine/.

It may be a more complex problem than just Virtual YMCA.

Virtual Y does not work on LG Smart TV with webOS 1.x. 1.4.0-2533 (Afro-ashley) for example.

I confirm that Virtual Y along with Activity Finder does not work on Smart TV.

Tested configuration:

  • LG Smart TV 47LB631V-ZL
  • Software version 05.05.70
  • webOS 1.4.0-2532 (Afro-ashley)

It looks like all pages where the Vue.js framework is used do not work.

Below screenshots on how pages look like:

  2. Activity Finder 1st page - locations do not react on clicks

  3. Activity Finder 2nd page
