You can find the as5600 encoder on any hobbist shop or amazon. What I did was created a 3d printed standoff to hold the encoder IC 2mm away from the shaft of stepper motor.
Stepper motor has a hole in its back plate wheres I super glued a small radially bipolar magnet.
