  • Steigenberger
  • Esplanade
  • Flandrischer Hof (GI stays here)
  • Weber
  • Boutique Hotel 026 Köln St. Michael
  • Pension Jansen

GI 2019-09-05:

You can make a reservation on Flandrischer Hof’s reservation system. This is advantageous for the hotel compared to booking via booking.com et al. You can still cancel the booking until arrival day, 18:00. You don’t have to leave you credit card number for the reservation.

For leisure travelers, the city of Cologne charges 5% on top of the accommodation cost as a so-called “culture fee”. At Flandrischer Hof you can specify that you are traveling for business and that you need an invoice with your company’s name on it. Maybe this is sufficient that they won’t charge the 5%. I’ve seem that at other places, you need to present a statement issued by your company that you are a business traveler. Otherwise they’ll charge you the additional 5%.
