What's broken?

cmdrunner:
  args: ["-t""]
  cmd: "tty-clock"
  enabled: true
  position:
    top: 0
    left: 0
    height: 1
    width: 1
  refreshInterval: 1

does not display the clock, and instead shows garbled text:

I'm guessing from the name that tty-clock expects to write drawing commands to a console (also known as a "tty"), but the cmd-runner expects just plain text. Try the date utility.

@reportaman Does that alternative solution work for you?

@senorprogrammer I didn't try as the date output is not a big clock. And the big clock module of wtf does not have a cleaner font like tty-clock: xorg62/tty-clock#97 (check the font there, its nice solid instead of outline). If integrating that is not possible, then perhaps having another font for the big clock module of wtfutil is what would resolve this.

Have you tried to set pty: true? The module has limited PTY support...
