Sublanguage inheritance

To start "brainstorming" some ideas, I'd like to introduce Sublanguage (https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/sublanguage/) by Maxime Schoeni.

The plugin is a toolkit that uses the concept of inheritance to provide translations stored in CPTs that inherit post metadata when it has not been translated (e.g. dates, prices, etc), which is an efficient way of thinking as it prevents metadata being unnecessarily duplicated.

In version 2, Maxime changed the storage of translated text into post meta which I do not consider to be the best mechanism for ensuring compatibility, speed or Wordpress best practice.

Presuming it must be GPL (?), I have attached the last CPT version (1.5.3) for us to consider -

What are your thoughts?
