Lets be honest Storefront UI is kinda not good because of thier 'handheld menu', All multibillion company which own ecommerce site dont use UI like that. all of them use simple header “menu icon, title, cart icon” look google store look amazon, look ebay, look aliexpress. They have tested it because they spent millions doing split testing. why Storefront want to invent the wheel? Use what works.
Please Storefront, fix your UI. handheld menu is just make the screen smaller on mobile device. and my conversion rate increase to the roof when disabling handheld menu.
And the final reason.
Just see your stats
-) Tell me, how many percentage of woocommerce installation enabling handheld menu? I bet its not even 50%.
-)Tell me, which biggest store which use woocomerce platform is enabling handheld menu?
I check on woocommerce showcase here:
=> https://woocommerce.com/showcase/
Sadly all those site turned off handheld footer bar. Yes I did say "ALL" as I scroll thru all 20 pages.
Even more sad, woocommerce.com is not using 'handheld menu' themself. They place their cart icon at the top like all ecommerce should be.
-) 99% of best selling woocommerce theme sold is not enabling handheld menu. (we are talking millions of dollar value here). just see themeforest site.
And the final question, Why giving the user the feature they disabled the most? Until this day I still cant figure out how the developer of woocommerce thinks by keeping this feature until now.
