The app could take the port information in GPMLs and generate "fake" nodes around the periphery of datanodes to serve as port-like targets.
This might solve some of the edge bend issues as well.
This could be a good workaround for viewing GPML in Cytoscape (and cytoscape.js) while port support in those tools is still being discussed/debated.
Alternatively, we could agree to ditch ports in all GPML and related tools! :)
