The talkback module adds unnecessary whitespace at the top of user talk pages if the page did not previously exist. See this diff and the screenshot below.

This still appears to be an issue with some welcome templates. See this diff. @NovemLinguae would you mind re-opening this since I don't know how to (or don't have permission to) do that?
