Welcome to our Open Source Projects Wiki!

Please go to the index and find the language you hope to find an open source project to contribute to. Or click here to find out more about how you can submit your own project.

Why is this here?

This repository was started to create a safe space for women to submit code to open source projects without fear. Sometimes the words 'Open Source' alone are intimidating, especially to newbies. So, these projects welcome new coders and experienced coders alike, who want to submit work to a real project.

Goals

These projects should:

  • Be good to add to resumes
  • Give you talking points for interviews
  • Give you practice with Git
  • Allow you to practice working with a team of people on a community project.
  • Give you practice working with different workflows (like using a Kanban board)

Finding a Project

We ask that all project repos follow a similar style guide. Each repo, for your convenience, should have:

  1. A home page (README.md) with description and how to get started.
  2. An issues page, with issues marked at minimum with Easy, Medium, Hard. This will give an initial idea of the level of effort and expertise you should be expected to have in order to complete an issue.
  3. Issues marked with UX/UI, Design, CSS, or HTML for contributes with a Front End skill set.

That's it. Feel free to start working on a project.
