It says I have manually modified files.

I have not modified anything. This happened before 1.909 and happens right now on 1.915. The updater must be broken.

I repeat, I have not modified anything. Do not blame users for your bugs.

@Stooovie Stooovie changed the title System Software Integrity check failed, manually edited files were detected. System Software Update is not possible under these circumstances. Please execute a Factory Reset or Delete User Data, then retry. System Software Integrity check failed, manually edited files were deteced Oct 9, 2021

After powercycling the Pi, the updater didn't complain about modified files anymore, so the detection is clearly broken.

While feedbacks are generally very welcome and helpful, this one is not, as it lacks infos on how to replicate it.
We need more info, such as :

  • Which plugins you installed
  • Did you install some tweaked interface?

When it fails, can you post the output of the command

/bin/mkdir /mnt/overlay
/usr/bin/sudo /bin/mount /dev/mmcblk0p3 /mnt/overlay
ls /mnt/overlay/dyn/volumio

thanks

Which plugins you installed

Spotify 2.0.3
Volumio Spotify Connect 1.0.5
Backup & Restore Data 0.7.2 (I did not backup or restore any data)

Did you install some tweaked interface?

No.

volumio@volumio:~$ /bin/mkdir /mnt/overlay
volumio@volumio:~$ /usr/bin/sudo /bin/mount /dev/mmcblk0p3 /mnt/overlay
volumio@volumio:~$ ls /mnt/overlay/dyn/volumio
ls: cannot access /mnt/overlay/dyn/volumio: No such file or directory

But the update process is not failing now as there's no update. I'll get back to this post if/when it fails again.

Thanks.
