How to create a CRUD api class ?

I'm following the documentation on how to setup a CRUD using Django Ninja link.

After reading the code, I was thinking of writing my code this way, do you think it will work and what might be a drawback for such solutions?

    def __init__(self):

        return employee

        return qs

    def update_employee(self, employee_id: int, payload: EmployeeIn):
        employee = get_object_or_404(Employee, id=employee_id)
        for attr, value in payload.dict().items():
            setattr(employee, attr, value)
        employee.save()

    @api.delete("/employees/{employee_id}")
    def delete_employee(self, employee_id: int):
